Introducing the new Bamboo Floss Picks. We are the first marketplace in the UK to offer a floss pick with a truly compostable handle!
Better than other brands!
That's right! Many other brands offer floss picks but the floss pick handles are often made using bioplastics and their degradability is questionable. We decided we can do better than that, which is why we created the Bamboo Floss Pick.
The floss pick handles are made from plastic-free and sustainably sourced moso bamboo which is suitable for home composting.
Bamboo is the most sustainable choice because it is the fastest growing plant on the planet and releases around 30% more oxygen compared to other plants!
Our handle has been carefully designed to be effective and easy to use. The design is just the right size and shape to offer great maneuverability around the mouth.
The floss itself is made using BPA free recyclable nylon fibres. We made the choice to use this fibre because it is strong, durable and can be easily cleaned. This means that each floss pick can be reused several times without fraying.
We are always looking for ways we can innovate our products, which is why we have already began our search for an alternative biodegradable fibre which can offer the same durability.
The bamboo floss picks are packaged in a recyclable and home compostable kraft box that is made from 100% recycled paper.
The pack includes 10 bamboo floss picks!
Why you need to floss!
Flossing let's you clean the areas your toothbrush or interdental brushes cannot reach.
Dentist's recommend flossing once per day for around 2 to 3 minutes. This is because flossing can remove plaque and food build up between the teeth, possibly reducing the risk of cavities, gingivitis, gum disease and tooth decay.
How do I floss using a pick?
- Start by using a slow sawing motion to place the floss inbetween your teeth. Always be gentle when flossing. If you floss to aggressively you could damage your teeth and gums.
- Once the floss is in place, pull the floss tight against the side of the tooth and slowly scrape up and down to begin removing plaque and other build up.
- Repeat the previous step on the other side of the tooth and the rest of your mouth.
- You can also rinse your floss pick in water to clean it between uses. This will prevent you from spreading plaque around your mouth.
- If you have trouble flossing, it is recommend you speak to your dentist or a medical professional for guidance.
